Volunteer to stock the fridge in the Teacher's Lounge (adjacent to the cafe) for teacher appreciation! Sparkling waters, coffee pods (in the coffee room adjacent to Hannah's desk) and coffee creamers are very appreciated by the teachers! These can really be delivered any day/time this week that works for you.
This signup sheet is for classroom volunteers to help teachers during art class time with Ms. Trish. Volunteers can assist in any class, not just their child’s. Please check in at the front office, arrive early to help with prep, and consider signing up for longer blocks of time when possible — but any time you can give is appreciated!
Gardening (link will be added soon)
If you would like to work on gardening at North Campus, you can either work on any of the following on your own time and log in the Volunteer Hours Log - or use the sheet to sign up for designated days when the ABS Garden Club works together:
On your own:
Weeding the 1st grade raised beds (there is a sign in front of them, the metal/wood beds in the tiers) and replenishing the soil there
Weeding and planting the half moon beds on lower side of playground
Weeding or weed whacking the rest of the tiers in front of the 7th Street Building
Weeding in the island beds along MLK Blvd and Seventh Street.
Weeding poison ivy and other weeds from around the AC units under the fire escape
Ongoing removal of Japanese knotweed and kudzu is needed from the hill surrounding the lower parking lot (this is a year round need)
Removal of kudzu from the Seventh Street entrance, pulling it down from the electric wires and trees (this is a year round need) Note about the Kudzu Removal: This is our bird Sanctuary. While this spot is constantly facing pressure from invasive plants, it was planted very intentionally by parents before I was at the school and there are many high-value plants for migratory bird species!
