Mr. Ghulam E Mustafa Abro received his PhD. Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering with a research area of stability control and observer designs for Underactuated QUAV on 5th July 2023, at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia. He received the PhD degree with distinction as his Viva Panel gave him category 1 for his research credentials achieved.
Category-1 is very rare in the history of Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia and it states that the candidate be conferred the Degree subject to minimal correction in spelling, grammar and syntax errors only.

Mr. Ghulam E Mustafa Abro received the Hakeem Said Gold Medal on February 27, 2016, at Hamdard University in Karachi, Pakistan, during the annual convocation. Prof. Dr. Atta-ur-Rahman, Pakistan's most honored scientist, who has received four civil honors from the country, presented the award.
He received the Hakeem Said Medal as a result of receiving the top marks and CGPA in the fall 2011 batch of engineering students at the Hamdard Institute of Engineering and Technology (HIET), Karachi, Pakistan.
