"Born in Pakistan 1992, Explored the UK in 2018 on HEC Travel grant, Embarked on a PhD Adventure in Malaysia from 2020 to 2023 as a Research Assistant, and Enriched Learning with a 4-Month Erasmus+ Research Mobility Program in France 2022. 

Short Profile

Dr. Ghulam E Mustafa Abro graduated with honours from Hamdard University in Karachi, Pakistan in 2016 with a B.S. in Electronic Engineering and a Gold Medalist. He also holds an M.S. in Electronic Engineering with a focus on Control and Automation from Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology in Karachi, Pakistan in 2019, and a PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering with a distinction category from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia in 2023. He is presently employed with King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Interdisciplinary Research Centre for Aviation and Space Exploration (IRC-ASE). His various local and international projects, travel grants, and academic prowess are a testament to his abilities. Dr. Abro has been involved with IEEE for almost ten years; he started off as a voluntary student member, beginning as a volunteer student member at IEEE HIET Student Branch in 2013. Over the years, he has held key roles, including Secretary of IEEE HIET Student Branch Karachi Section (2014), Coordinator for IEEE Young Professionals, Karachi Section (2016), and Treasurer YP Karachi Section (2018). His volunteering spirit continued with positions like Secretary of IEEE UTP Student Branch (2020), Member of IEEE SAC Malaysia, Secretary of IEEE ROMA Flagship Conference, Malaysia (2021-2022), and Coordinator for IEEE Technical Activities at IEEE YP Malaysia (2020-2021). Even today, he still continues to serve as technical programme committee member, secretary and conference chair of several IEEE International conferences and reviews articles for various SCI Indexed Journals. Dr. Abro prior to joining KFUPM, had been working for different organizations such that faculty member at electrical and electronic engineering department of Hamdard University Pakistan (2015-2019), research assistant at institute of autonomous systems (IAS) and Centre for automotive research electric mobility (CAREM) Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia (2020-2023), National Centre for robotics and Artificial Intelligence – Condition monitoring systems lab (2021-2022) and Science Technology Research Institute of Defense Engineering (STRIDE), Ministry of Defense, Malaysia (2022-2023).
