Mapping of RoFR ineligible claims for Tribal Welfare Department of Telangana State:
This project work was executed during Aug 2020 to Feb 2021 as part of an MoU with the Tribal Welfare Department of Telangana State. The major components of work includes the training of field staff appointed by the department to take up GPS based survey of land parcels claimed by the applicants, download of GPS track and way point data, polygon mapping in GIS software (QGIS/ArcGIS) with desired attributes (physical extent etc) and producing individual claimant wise and village wise shape/kml outputs.
As part of the project, a total of 25,249 ineligible claims under 13 tribal districts of the State was mapped and the departmental staff of TWD was trained by PEF to continue the project by its own resources.
Geo-tag based Green cover linked scholarships to students for Plantation and Protection of tree saplings with 100% surviving.
Green Scholarships by PEF is an extension to the Govt’s green development projects such as Haritha Haram in Telangana and Vanam Manam in AP states. The plantation was taken up in a massive way under these projects but the survival rate is very low. This due to the fact that neither Govt. nor people who have planted will take responsibility to water & protect these plants. Exactly understanding the requisite, PEF finds a way to address the issue by introducing Green Scholarships to youth.
Students studying high schools, Diploma, Engineering/Degree colleges and unemployed youth can plant 5-10 plants per student to earn Rs.500-1000/- until 3-4 years period. The activity can be taken up in their own lands, School/college premises, Govt. lands or in Forest lands. CSR funds Donations, PEF Projects fund etc will be utilised for this purpose.
As part of the foundation activities, The Pure Earth Environment Conference (PEEC) was first initiated by PEF in the year 2019 to encourage the younger generation towards constructive research and innovation in the scientific and technological aspects of any/all activity concerned with sustainable development and environmental conservation. PEEC encourages paper presentations exclusively from students and scholars, and initiates a much-needed discussion on earth and its environment. This conference is organized bi-annually on fixed days i.e. the 4th Saturday of April and November months every year. PEEC’s aim is to encourage a serious dialogue on protecting the earth’s environment and the growing need to preserve our natural resources, which is an urgent issue of our times towards future life on earth.
The first ever Pure Earth Environment Conference, 2019(Nov) with the focal theme on ‘Green Environment and Clean Energy’ was organized in November 2019 at NIMSME campus, Hyderabad and organized 10 National Conferences till date either in physical or virtual modes. Research papers from students representing various educational institutions will be presented in the conference. The papers presented in different technical sessions will be adjudged by the jury of each session and over all best papers will be awarded with cash prizes and mementos along with the certificates.
