The New Normal: Rockport, 2021.

A group exhibit consisting of 42 Rockport Artists who responded to the changing times: the long-term effects of Hurricane Harvey, the global pandemic, and racial inequality and injustice. Selected by a jury panel, these artists received grants totaling $150,000 that culminated in this exhibition. Grant money was provided by the Fine Line Group, Alice L. Walton Foundation, and the Tartaglino Richards Family Foundation.

Arts Forum, Prize Artwork Design and Presentation, 2018.

On September 6, 2018, I presented at the Arts Forum at the Art Museum of South Texas, Corpus Christi, TX. One of my artworks from my New Horizons series was selected and commissioned as the Star Volunteer Prize for 20 recipients selected by the Arts and Cultural Commission.

Contemporary Fabric Show, 2018.

I will have two works at the "Contemporary Fabric" Show at the Art Center of Corpus Christi, TX. The exhibition runs from May 8- June 3, 2018. The opening reception will be held Thursday, May 10th, from 5 - 7 pm.

SAMC Excellence Award, 2018.

On April 29, 2018, I was honored to receive the "Excellence in Art History" Award from the Department of Art & Design, Texas A&M University, Corpus Christi. The award ceremony was hosted by the School of Arts, Media & Communication.

Oso Bay Biennial XX, Third Place Award, 2018.

"Realism Redux!" is a symposium on the fine art of all forms of representational painting, held March 29th - April 20th, 2018, at TAMU-Corpus Christi, TX. My work, Horizons Series: 2.1, received a 3rd Place award in the juried exhibit judged by artist Fahamu Pecou. I also have a small collection of works exhibited in the Faculty/Student portion of the exhibit at Weil Gallery, located on campus in the Center for Arts, first floor. The Art Center of Corpus Christi presents the 2018 Independents Show, March 7 - 30th, 2018. My work, Flatfish Flying Carpet, received an Honorable Mention award in the Mixed/Fiber category of the exhibit.

La Merienda Fine Art Show and Sale, 2018.

I am a participating artist in the Corpus Christi Cotillion Clubs 80th Anniversary La Merienda Fine Art Show & Sale, Friday, February 16th, 6-9 PM. It will be taking place at the Islander Art Gallery and benefits the TAMU-CC Visiting Artist Program.

33rd Annual International Exhibition, 2018.

My work, Job No. 633, will be included in the University of Texas-Tyler's 33rd Annual International Exhibition at Meadows Gallery, from January 22-March 9, 2018. The opening reception is Thursday, February 8th, 6-8 PM.

American Dream Exhibition, Honorable Mention Award, 2017.

My work, Fast Fashion, was accepted and awarded Honorable Mention in K Space Contemporary's American Dream exhibit. It will be on display July 7 through August 18th. This is a national juried art exhibition inspired by the history of artists questioning, provoking, resisting, reflecting, and healing through making. The K Space Exhibition Committee selected 40 works of art from 450 images submitted. Selected artists are from all over the USA. The Independents Show Award, Merit Award, 2017.

My work, Caught in a Dream, earned the Merit Award for Mixed Media/Fiber this year at the Art Center of Corpus Christi's Independents Exhibition, June 8-June 30, 2017. The Juror this year was Tina Anastos. The opening reception was held on June 14, 5-7 PM.

I will have work in the upcoming All Membership Show 2017, at The Art Center of Corpus Christi, January 18 - February 25. The Juror this year will be Lizzie Welch. The Artist Reception will be held on January 18th, 5-7 PM.


DIMENSION XLIV, 2016.

I have had an artwork selected to be in the juried "Dimension XLIV" exhibit held at the Art Center of Corpus Christi, Texas. The juror is Austin based artist, Xochi Solis. The exhibit will run November 5th through November 23rd. The Artist Reception is November 9th, 5-7 PM.

The Independents Show, Honorable Mention Award, 2016.

On June 15th, I was awarded an Honorable Mention in the Mixed/Fiber category at the Art Center of Corpus Christi's The Independents 2016 show. The exhibit ran June 10th - July 9th, 2016. The juror was Kevin Mercer, a new assistant professor and gallery coordinator at TAMU-CC. The artwork that won the award is House of Dreams, 24 x 24 inches, mixed media.

Currents Exhibition, 2015.

Rockport Center for the Arts hosts "Currents" November, 2015-January, 2016.

The Independents Show, Honorable Mention Award, 2015.

My artwork, Personal Beauty, won Honorable Mention award at "The Independents Show" presented by The Art Center of Corpus Christi, Texas. Juror was Alexis Hunter, owner of Alexis Hunter Interiors. The exhibit runs June 4th-27th, 2015. There are approximately 126 works of art in the show.

Texas Fiber Exhibit: Award in Creativity, 2015.

I am honored to have received "Award in Creativity" for my artwork, "Job Number 633," at the Thread Sense Texas Fiber Exhibit held at the Art Center of Corpus Christi, Texas. The show juror was Lucia LaVilla-Havelin (a working fiber artist for almost 40 years) The Show runs from March 5 - April 29th.

Rockport Art Festival Prize Jury, 2012.

Judges: Jamie Speck of Rockport, Deborah Males of Corpus Christi, and Cameron Pratt of Port Aransas.

I had a great time helping jury the 2012 Art Festival Prize awards on July 7th. It was HOT, but the quality of the artworks, and the event's high attendance of visitors to Rockport made it worth it!

CURRENT: Georgetown Banner Project, 2011.

My banner is located on the corner of S. Austin Ave. & S. Main St., right by the courthouse lawn. This project was made possible by a grant from the city of Georgetown Arts and Culture Board, with additional funding provided by Georgetown Art Works & Graphismo. The project included the works of 54 artists from around the world, which were presented as banners in the city streets and at the library. The banners will hang for a couple of years during the month of October to celebrate the month of the Arts.

This is a six person show that runs August 10th-September 10th at the Rockport Center for the Arts.

Merit Artist Award, 2011.

On December 10th, 2010, I was selected as a 2011 Merit Artist by the Rockport Center for the Arts, Rockport, Texas. Each year five Merit Artists are selected by juror and one by popular vote. The six Merit Artists exhibit in a group show of new work the following August. This year's juror was Christa Brothers, the Owner/Director of Bismarck Studios in San Antonio, Texas. As a winner I will be able to submit up to ten pieces to show as a series of new works for the Merit Artist exhibition taking place August 10th-September 10th.
