Sunless from shadow slave webnovel.
This is my favourite character fanart so far!
I've always been a fan of Sunless and especially seeing his character growth in the novel. I wanted to draw him but I didn't know how he looked like. So naturally it took me a lot of time to imagine him and use many reference images to help me solidify my image of Sunless. And here we are with this! I'm proud of the rendering here. Of course there are room for more improvements...
Character design inspired from Toothfairy from Reverse 1999 Gacha game.
I initially wanted to draw Fors wall from Lord of The mysteries but I've always imagined her with brown vest and beautiful white laced shirt but I couldn't find any references until I stumbled upon Toothfairy r1999. It really saved me time.
The purpose of this painting of mine was for practicing hair rendering :)
Just a sketch. Trying out stuff--
This is my first time trying to learn from @Yoneyama Mai's art techniques. Her masterful use of color and the way she manipulates light so effortlessly is nothing short of breathtaking!
The Reference Image I used is down below:
Trying out new stuff with this. The character is Gojo Satoru from Jujutsu Kaisen. He's so cool :D
As I was drawing this, my thoughts wandered to the struggles I’ve faced in life. Life often feels like an endless mountain climb—harsh, unforgiving, yet strangely beautiful. With perseverance, there's always hope of reaching the summit, but the path is riddled with dangers, like storms and landslides, threatening to pull you down.
A mountain is a force of nature—silent, indifferent. And in its vastness, you're alone. No one can carry you upward; you must carve your own trail toward success, every step with determination.
The crows in the drawing symbolize those who circle the successful—greedy onlookers who wait patiently, ready to swoop in like vultures and take what they didn’t earn.
This drawing may look familiar to you because it is the banner for this website. I drew this with the idea of a train running across a bridge in the middle of nowhere. Mountains rise in the distance, the vastness of space stretches above, and a bright moon lights the night sky. As I worked, I thought about how light pollution has obscured our view of the stars. It's a sad reality that makes me long for the days when the night sky was a dazzling display of twinkling lights.
I created this oil painting in the heart of nature. It's a metaphor for the love and gratitude I feel. It's a testament to the raw beauty that surrounds us, an homage to the life force that nourishes our souls.
I wanted to capture the essence of nature's embrace, the way it envelops us in its vastness and reminds us of how small we are in the grand scheme of things. At the same time, I wanted to celebrate the intricate details that make each leaf, each flower, and each living creature unique and precious.
Just as Haruki Murakami's words paint vivid pictures in my mind, I hope this painting evokes a sense of wonder and appreciation for the natural world. It's a reminder that even in the darkest of times, beauty can be found in the most unexpected places.
This is probably one of my favorite drawings. As a huge fan of medieval comics and manhwa, I wanted to create a scene that felt like it jumped off the page. The arch mage is locked in battle on a magma island against an unknown enemy. His wand of life and death is broken, and he's desperately trying to use his last bit of magic to turn the tide. The background is a mountain of lava that's flowing out of a huge skull. I thought it would be cool to draw the aftermath of the battle, where the mage died a hero's death.
I drew this because I wanted to practice drawing water. I wanted to explore ways to design a liquid element every time. It's just a practice sketch, so it's not perfect, but I'm happy with how it turned out. I especially like the way the light reflects off the surface.
