Consultations

Most women in South Africa  have surgical instead of medical abortions. The main reason is that surgical abortion is much more widely available than medical. They may also want to know that the procedure is completed right away.

Our Center

The side effects of medical abortion don’t last long. Some women will have chills, headache, fever, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea

that may last a day or so on the day of taking the medication. Some women experience none of these

Our counselors will discuss your decision with you, explain the procedure, and answer any questions you might have. The counselor may suggest options, provide birth control information and offer emotional support.

A nurse, and a counselor if you choose, will be in the procedure room with you during your abortion to address both your physical and emotional needs.
