Educational Scholarship Opportunity for Women
The Women of Promise & Courage scholarships were originally established by the Abilene Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW). AAUW has been empowering women as individuals and as a community since 1881. For more than 130 years, we have worked together as a national grassroots organization to improve the lives of millions of women and their families. The purpose of the Women of Achievement Award is to recognize and honor women of diverse cultures, roles, and accomplishments who have demonstrated commitment to the betterment of the Abilene region through significant voluntary contributions.
APPLICATION WINDOW: OCTOBER 1, 2024 - DECEMBER 31, 2024
APPLICATION PROCEDURES
Application must be completed in its entirety. No fields should be left blank.
Transcripts of completed college work must be submitted by January 15, 2025.
Three letters of recommendation, including at least one from an instructor or employer, must be received by January 15, 2025.
The Scholarship Committee must receive applications with all supporting documentation by the designated date. Letters of Recommendation may be submitted separately in a sealed envelope if the recommender prefers. Transcripts may be submitted separately if the institution prefers.
The applicant may be contacted or requested to appear in person if the awarding Scholarship Committee requests.
Names of Scholarship Recipients will be posted on or by March 1, 2025 on the Women of Outstanding Achievement website (www.abilenewoa.org) and social media (@abilenewoa).
