I am Abigail Gyamfi, and it is a pleasure to connect with you. I am interested in developing and applying theoretical and computational methods to explore fundamental questions related to molecular electronic structures, chemical bonding, reactivity, stability, and spectroscopic properties. My research has potential applications related to renewable energy, the environment, in the design of novel materials and future catalysts.
I am committed to propagating and amplifying chemical sciences and other STEM programs to inspire the next generation of scientists, engineers, and innovators. I love teaching, mentoring, and volunteering. After I completed my bachelor's degree in Ghana, I served as a chemistry and integrated science tutor at a high school during my one-year national youth service. This experience instilled in me mentorship which has influenced my life, research, and teaching.
Some of the crucial skills I have developed are resilience, resourcefulness, open-mindedness and emotional intelligence. My personal philosophy rooted in perseverance, diligence and curiosity has shaped my journey. Some of my core values and guiding principles include continuous lifelong learning, self-improvement, intellectual exploration, staying approachable and being receptive to constructive feedback.
Beyond my scientific pursuits, I have a strong interest in social entrepreneurship and initiatives that support startup development and youth empowerment, sales and marketing. In Ghana, I worked with budding entrepreneurs to grow their brands. My ultimate goal is to live a life of significance, service and smiles. I am community focused, at the heart of everything I do, is community service wherever I find myself!
