Improving the Performance of Protein Balanced Secondary Structure Prediction using PSEE (Position Specific Estimated Energy) [August 2016 - February 2017]
Advised by: M. Sohel Rahman
PSEE (Position Specific Estimated Energy) influences the protein folding process as it is related to the stability of secondary structure. So PSEE is a promising feature in the identification of protein secondary structures. The previous secondary structure predictors do not include PSEE in their feature sets. We propose an approach to incorporate PSEE on a balanced secondary structure predictor MetaSSPred to develop a new predictor PSEESSPred, that performs better than state-of-the-art predictor SPINE X and MetaSSPred on the basis of overall accuracy.
