I am a doctoral candidate at the Department of Food and Resource Economics, University of Florida. My research employs methods of microeconometric and non-market valuation to address pressing and emerging issues in agricultural economics, natural resource management, and food systems. I am particularly interested in studying policy-relevant issues related to the management of natural resources and the adoption of pro-environmental behavior. My research is motivated by a deep interest in helping policymakers and donors make evidence-based decisions.
My recent work explores household adoption of water quality best management practices, evaluates public perceptions of aquatic invasive species management, quantifies the economic impacts of harmful algal blooms, assesses the impact of lake water quality on housing markets, studies consumers’ willingness to adopt sustainable food choices, and assesseses the impact of agricultural interventions on food and nutritional security.
Between 2015-2020, I was affiliated with the International Water Management Institute (IWMI), a CGIAR research centre. My research at IWMI focused on the water-food-energy nexus in South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa.
