Abhishek Sarkar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at IIT Delhi (IITD). He obtained his B.Tech from NIT Durgapur (2014) and M.Tech from IIT Madras (2016). He completed his Ph.D. in 2020 jointly at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and the Technical University of Darmstadt (TU Darmstadt), Germany, where he received the Best Doctoral Thesis Award and the Dean’s Prize for Excellence in Research. He subsequently carried out postdoctoral research at KIT and TU Darmstadt and was a visiting scientist at the University of California, Irvine, USA. Prior to joining IITD, he served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at IIT Kharagpur. His research focuses on structure–property relationships in ceramic systems, particularly high-entropy oxides, for magnetic and electrochemical energy storage applications. He has published over 40 papers, with more than 8,000 citations.
