Abhijat Sharma is a PhD candidate in Computer Science at the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton, where he began his studies in the Winter of 2025 under the supervision of Dr. Kalikinkar Mandal. His doctoral research focuses on applications of discrete mathematics and algebraic concepts to public key encryption and privacy-preserving machine learning.
Before joining UNB for his doctoral studies, Abhijat completed his master's and bachelor's studies from IISc-Bangalore and IIIT-Hyderabad, respectively. His professional experience includes roles as a Senior Research Scientist at Folium Labs (Arithmic), where he worked on zero-knowledge proofs for blockchain scalability, and Graduate Researcher positions at Linköping University (Sweden) and LIRMM (Montpellier, France).
