What is AbGradJ?
An event for graduate students and early career scientists that are involved in the field of astrobiology and space exploration.
AbGrad Japan (AbGradJ) will be carried out in both Japanese and English, giving the presenters the choice of language and bring together students of astrobiology in Japan regardless of language.
Why AbGradJ?
AbGradJ aims to bring together all of the students studying in Japan who share an interest in, and are currently doing research related to, astrobiology and space exploration.
Through this conference, we seek to establish a strong next-generation astrobiology community starting from students to create lasting relationships that may continue into future collaborations across the globe.

About AbgradJ
This initiative was born at a coffee table at the Earth-Life Science Institute in the spring of 2022.
The students found the need to connect with others studying astrobiology, origin of life, and space exploration, to have the opportunity to share ideas, and to build a network and connect with like-minded people. They also saw that in Japan the opportunity for international and local students to interact are not that many, and that we could all benefit from coming together and creating a long lasting astrobiology community.
