Key Requirement:
Participants must use generative AI tools in their design workflow.
1) Introduction
Founded in 2016, Academy for Bright Future Young Engineers (ABFYE) has spent a decade inspiring young mind across Hong Kong to “think like engineers” through authentic, hands‑on STEM experiences. As we mark our 10th Anniversary, we’re inviting students to design a commemorative logo that embodies curiosity, creativity, and the engineering spirit that drives Hong Kong forward.
This is not a traditional logo contest: we require the use of AI tools somewhere in your workflow. We want to celebrate responsible, transparent human‑AI co‑creation.
2) Eligibility
Who can enter: Secondary school students in Hong Kong (S1–S6) and all HKUST Undergraduate students.
Supervision: Teachers/mentors may advise but must not produce any part of the artwork.
Multiple entries: Each participant may submit one entry.
3) Theme & Design Objectives
Your logo should:
Celebrate 10 years of ABFYE and its mission to engage youth with engineering and STEM.
Include elements of the number "10" in the design is preferred, but not essential.
Work digitally and in print across sizes (web, posters, T‑shirts, pins, banners).
Be clear, memorable, and versatile, including monochrome and small‑size use.
Avoid using or modifying the official HKUST crest or logos
4) Mandatory AI Tools & Disclosure
We insist that participants use generative AI during their process. To keep the competition transparent and fair:
4.1 Allowed tools (non‑exhaustive)
Microsoft Copilot / Designer, DALL·E, Midjourney, Stable Diffusion (local or hosted), Adobe Firefly/Illustrator Generative tools, and similar.
4.2 Authorship & originality
The submission must be your original work. Do not use pre‑made logo templates, clip‑art logos, or replicate protected marks.
You are responsible for ensuring your use of AI tools produces outputs that are permitted for commercial/branding use under each tool’s license.
4.3 Prohibited content
Infringing or confusingly similar designs, hateful/unsafe content, real corporate or university marks, or outputs banned by the tools’ policies.
5) Technical Requirements & Submission Format
5.1 Images to upload (THREE images in total in one .zip file)
Primary vector logo: SVG (in RGB format), vector logo must be curved
