Abstract
Humans are developing and utilizing artificial intelligence to solve problems in a faster, safer and healthier way. Humans have natural cognitive abilities to do things that artificial intelligence cannot yet do. The goal is for artificial intelligence to mimic the natural intelligence of a human in order to help us accomplish our goals. It is important to point out the strengths in each system to acquire knowledge, process and use it to problem solve. In conjunction artificial intelligence can help humans to make the world a better place faster.
Abstract
Instructional design, using technologies for learning, can be explained by discussing learning and instructional theory. Instructional theory is influenced by three main learning theories; behaviorism, cognitivism and constructivism. Instructional theory is a method of creating opportunities to maximize learning for a varied audience. The instructional design process is used to develop individualized content learning experiences by utilizing technologies to manage and evaluate learning goals. Humans are developing and utilizing technology to individualize instruction to meet learning goals. Two new technologies being used in instructional design are gamification and augmented reality. It is important to point out the instructional design being used to implement these technologies for learning. Information regarding the components of gamification and augmented reality and how they are being applied to non-gaming content for learning purposes. Furthermore, how can these learning technologies be used to increase enrollment at the university level. With advancements in technology, the delivery of instructional content using technology is becoming easier and more accessible to use in instructional design.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate how the use of social media affects recruitment at the University of North Texas. A large number of young adults today use Snapchat and Instagram as platforms for consumer engagement in addition to civic and social engagement. The purpose of this study is to determine how the use of social media is shaping the ways students select universities given that 18-24-year-olds use Snapchat 78%, Instagram 71% and YouTube 94% (Pew Research Center, 2018). A twelve-month qualitative investigation will measure social media engagement on YouTube. The questions this study proposes to answer include: (1) Will supplier-generated content increase student engagement?; (2) Will social media engagement increase student application numbers?
Teaching Philosophy
“Do you want to be cogs on a wheel driven by a pinion which revolves in the obedience to a force outside itself?” (Carey, 2016, p. 30) Learning takes place everywhere and during every stage of life. Learning is not limited to universities, colleges, schools or buildings. Learning occurs when something makes an impact on your thought process and affects your approach to analyzing and solving problems. New emotions, tasks, experiences, verbal dialog and reflection can create opportunities for learning to take place and change our perception.
