Interested in curling? Aberdeen Curling Club is a fun, social group of curlers who will help you to learn to curl and get you started playing in games.
Sign up to one of our Learn to Curl 1hr taster sessions. A quick run through of the basics and a chance to meet us!
Next attend our Beginners Course, 2 x 2hr session learning the sliding delivery, stone release, sweeping and tactics!
Now join the club and start playing games! Our friendly members will welcome you and help develop your skills!
Competitions we play...
We play lots of different formats of curling each season. As a new member you can play in the winter or spring league or both! We place you into teams and our members will make you feel welcome and help to develop your curling. You can then choose to play in any of our other competitions throughout the year too!

Founded in 1871 Aberdeen Curling Club is the longest established curling club in NE Scotland. We are a large friendly club and enjoy competitive mixed curling at all age and skill levels.

Our matches are usually scheduled for either Tuesday or Thursday evenings.
Fixtures are planned at the start of the season and teams are issued with schedules for the curling year in October.

No. No experience is necessary. We are a fun, welcoming bunch who all started as beginners so are happy to help on your curling journey.
Alternativly if you have curled before or are an experience curler you are also very welcome to join Aberdeen Curling Club!
Equipment such as stones, brushes and crutches are always provided.
Once you join the club all you need is a slider or curling shoes which can be hired.
No. When you join the club you are added to our pool of members. Teams are selected at random each season ensuring all teams are balanced and that each team has a experienced skip. You play with your team for the league. Each competition you play in, you are placed in a new team.
The curling season runs between October and April each year. The Winter league runs Oct-Dec and the Spring League runs Jan-Mar. We also run other competitions throughout the season.
Aberdeen Curling Club games are usually held on Tuesday or Thursday evenings at 6pm or 8:15pm.

No. Curling is an inclusive sport. We have many members who have trasitioned to a walking delivery with a pole, our coaches will help you find the style that suits you. Aberdeen Curling Club has had members ranging from 16-80 years old all playing the same leagues with each other.
Last season we had a 'Welcome Back Practice Session' at the start of the season to allow our members to get back into the swing of things after the summer break. We hope to organise a practice session again at the start of next season before the league starts.
Curl Aberdeen also offer Novice sessions which you are welcome to attend whilst a member at Aberdeen Curling Club.

Aberdeen Curling Club played in the Indoor Grand Match - the biggest curling game in Scotland, the North v South. We enjoyed a wee dram at half time with our opponents during the traditional stacking of the brooms. 🧹
Aberdeen Curling Club love supporting events at Curl Aberdeen and once again came second in the Ham and Egg Bonspiel! A big thanks to Phil and Angie for organising a fun-filled day!!
Our president collected this prestigious medal which was awarded to Aberdeen Curling Club at the Scottish Curling AGM for being an affiliated member of The Royal Caledonian Curling Club for 150 years!
Aberdeen Curling Club's annual Christmas Jumper day was a great success with curlers wearing festive outfits and occassionally breaking into song!
