ABOUT ME
Welcome to Latif's website!
I am a third-year PhD candidate in Environmental Economics at AgroParisTech–INRAE (BETA, Université de Lorraine) and the Climate Economics Chair in France. My research examines the links between international trade and forests, and their implications for climate change mitigation and adaptation. I combine impact evaluation methods with large-scale geospatial data on forest cover and loss to generate policy-relevant evidence on sustainable development challenges. Before my PhD, I completed a Master’s in Development Economics at CERDI (Université Clermont Auvergne), specializing in sustainable development.
Research Interests :
Environmental Economics: Forest, climate change mitigation /adaptation, and deforestation drivers.
Agricultural & Resource Economics: Interaction between agricultural production, climate shocks, and natural resource management.
Econometrics & Causal Impact: Advanced causal inference (Staggered DiD, Synthetic Control, Entropy Balancing), Panel Data, and Time Series analysis.
Geospacial data : Expertise in pixel-level (raster) data extraction, spatial harmonization, and construction of high-resolution longitudinal panels through grid-cell integration.
