Scouts BSA is a youth development program for young men and women ages 11 to 17. It offers a variety of outdoor adventures and skill-building activities that help young people develop into the next generation of leaders.
Through a wide range of experiences, Scouts BSA encourages leadership, responsibility, citizenship, and personal growth. The self-paced, youth-led curriculum helps young people achieve their best. From camping to hiking to community service and merit badge achievements, Scouts BSA produces self-reliant, community-minded leaders. It provides a supportive environment where young people learn to take initiative, set goals, and work as a team to achieve them.
Scouts BSA offers troops for boys and troops for girls, so it’s easy to connect with Troop that fits your family’s needs!
Scouts BSA. Be Prepared — for anything.
We are taught to be trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.
We have opportunities to take on leadership roles within our troops, learn essential leadership skills, and develop confidence.
We learn about our rights and responsibilities as citizens, participate in community service projects, and become actively engaged in their communities.
We participate in a variety of outdoor activities, learn about healthy living, and develop a sense of physical well-being.
We hike, camp, kayak and canoe, rock climb, and do so many other outdoor activities to develop valuable skills and experience the natural world.
We learn essential skills like first aid, cooking, knot tying, fire building, and orienteering.
We are trained to be self-sufficient and confident in our ability to handle a variety of situations.
We are encouraged to take initiative, make decisions, and lead age-appropriate, engaging activities under the guidance of adult leaders.
We participate in community service projects, both locally and nationally, to help others and to make a positive impact in our community.
We welcome young people from all backgrounds and foster a sense of belonging.
