We can use pronouns to replace the names of people and things.
My sister isn't here. She is at the park.
My brother and I go to the same school. We like the teachers.
My favourite books are old but they are really interesting.
How to use them
Use I, you, he, she, it, we or they.
I'm from Mexico. You're from France.
He/She/It isn't here.
We/They are at home.
How are pronouns used in sentences?
The main function of pronouns is to replace nouns. Because of this, they are used in sentences in similar ways to nouns.
Like nouns, pronouns commonly serve as the subject of a sentence, followed by a verb (a word expressing an action).
Examples: Pronouns as subjects
I like to play chess.
We have never been to Germany before.
It is difficult to stay calm in stressful situations.
Use it for the weather and the time.
It's cold and raining.
