We seek a part-time licensed providers to join our group. We value our collaborative, interdisciplinary approach to providing care to a wide range of child, adolescent, and adult patients, and are open to psychiatrists, psychologists, applied behavior analysts, SLPs, or MFTs. ABCD has a wide referral base and provides a collegial work environment with reception and bookkeeping/billing support. Health insurance and retirement plans are available for individual enrollment once a trial period is completed. If interested, please contact Dr. Brian Neville at bneville@abcdseattle.com or Dr. Madeline Frank at mfrank@abcdeattle.com.

Methods:  Based on the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development Study, we included 4962 participants aged 9-10 who were followed-up for 2 years. Trajectories of depressive symptoms were identified by Latent Class Growth Analyses (LCGA). Four types of machine learning models were built to predict the identified trajectories and to obtain variables with predictive value based on the best performance model.

Now, you can also make sure that the content you want to present are relevant to their reference frameworks. You can add extra materials and topics to challenge them and to tailor the learning objectives to the skills that they need to obtain and not the skills they already have.

With an A-B-C-D learning objective, you have a clear objective that provides a clear target for your training. You can then tailor your content and exercises to help participants meet the objective. You also have a clear way of objectively verifying whether participants are fully trained.

Keep in mind that objectives are not always written in order of Audience, Behavior, Condition, and Degree. Often, learning objectives are written in order of Condition, Audience, Behavior, Degree (CABD). In addition, the degree to which students need to master objectives is often listed via the grading scale in the syllabus and is consistent across all objectives in the course. For instance, students are expected to make 70% or better to pass the assignment.

Student learning and development outcomes (SLOs) are the foundation for everything we do with respect to assessment and program development; every step in the cycle that follows presumes the existence of clear, measureable outcomes that are meaningful to stakeholders. During this step of the process, you will need to consider questions such as:

Student Oriented: SLOs should reflect the knowledge, attitudes, and skills students are expected to gain as a result of participating in a program. SLOs should not outline the programming students will receive or summarize what a facilitator will cover; that is the next step of the assessment cycle. The focus of SLOs is on the student and their learning.

SLOs serve as the foundation for program development; it is nearly impossible to intentionally build programming to impact particular outcomes without stating those outcomes first. In short, outcomes are stated and then programming is built that should (according to theory) impact those outcomes. Programs built without explicitly-stated SLOs can be immensely creative and fun, but it is extremely difficult to assess the effectiveness of these programs without first figuring out what outcomes they may impact and why. As a result, students may not experience a sufficiently targeted intervention that increases learning or development.

Lab director Dr. Megan Lorenz, assistant professor of psychology, has focused her research on word learning, play and differences in learning from books and screens. When she came to Augustana in 2018 from the University of Iowa, she wanted to continue that research.

Need to create achievable learning objectives for your students? Not sure how to approach designing or explaining these learning objectives? In my recent instructional design research, I learned about the ABCD model for creating a learning objective. Find out more in this post.

The audience is made up of the people who need to be able to achieve the learning objective. This could be students in one course, a whole grade level, a department at a company, or employees with the same title. Or another group. Basically, who needs to accomplish the objective?

The behavior is the action that the audience needs to do in order to achieve the learning objective. Try to focus on one behavior rather than multiple in one learning objective. This behavior is further defined using the final two elements of this model.

This is just one way to approach creating a learning objective. You can keep it simple with just having an audience and behavior. But, including the condition and degree can help give learners a better idea of what they should be aiming for when completing an activity. If you want to learn more about instructional design concepts, check out my post about the ADDIE model.

You can attend a CPR training course or first aid course with a non-profit organisation such as St John Ambulance Australia (Victoria), Australian Red Cross and Life Saving Victoria. St John also runs awareness programs in schools and the community.

There is no age limit to learning CPR. The ability to carry out CPR is only limited by the physical capabilities of the person carrying out the procedure.

In some schools, CPR is a module of the first aid course taught to Year 9 students. CPR is a life skill that everyone should learn. Remember that doing some CPR in an emergency is better than doing nothing.

Swimming lessons are another way to protect children around water. They teach children how to swim and can help prevent drownings by allowing the child to swim out of the pool or to keep afloat until an adult reaches them. For youth and adults, learning CPR is a crucial lifesaving technique. Check your local fire department or YMCA for CPR certification classes.

The mission of LEAD is to train teachers to provide remediation for children or adults who have been identified with dyslexia or a related disorder. The Diagnostic Center for Dyslexia and Learning Disabilities provides quality evaluation services to help individuals, families, and educators understand and successfully manage possible learning differences.

Once enrolled, a community is eligible to apply for Community Action Grants, which are offered twice a year, to be able to undertake additional planning efforts or to implement the priorities that were identified during the enrollment process. In addition, an enrolled community has access to a Regional Coordinator who can help with developing future project ideas and then aid researching and applying for grants, especially federal grants. Finally, an enrolled community may participate in training sessions hosted by the Regional Coordinators as well as peer-learning and networking opportunities regionally and statewide.

Presenters Haley Jean and Sara Keleman, M.S. students at the University of Maine School of Food and Agriculture. will give an overview of global climate change, with special attention to effects in Maine and the Northeast. They will discuss the local effects of global weather patterns and the challenges that they may pose to those who grow vegetables, fruit, and flowers in our region, and will suggest ways to mitigate some of the more confounding challenges. The talk will also showcase tools for learning about, understanding, and addressing climate change impacts.

Additional Information The ASSURE model is an instructional design model that helps educators create effective learning experiences. It is a six-step process that includes the following:

We use some machine learning methods to build classifiers of pigmented skin lesion images. We take advantage of natural induction methods based on the attributional calculus (AQ21) and MLP and SVM supervised methods to discover patterns in the melanocytic skin lesion images. This methodology can be treated as a non-invasive approach to early diagnosis of melanoma. Our feature set is composed of wavelet-based multi-resolution filters of the dermatoscopic images. Our classifiers show good efficiency and may potentially be important diagnostic aids. 2351a5e196
