I am a second year PhD student in the Department of Biology in the Ecology, Behavior, and Evolution cluster at Boston University, working with Dr. Kelly Aho.
Broadly, I am interested in freshwater biogeochemistry, with a focus on carbon cycling and greenhouse gas emissions from rivers and streams, as well as terrestrial factors that influence these processes. I enjoy using a mix of field, laboratory, GIS, and statistical methods to better understand these dynamics.
My research utilizes a combination of field data I collect myself, as well as data from the National Ecological Observatory Network (NEON). I currently have field sites in the Kalamazoo River Watershed in Michigan, where I collect a variety of samples, including dissolved greenhouse gases and dissolved and particulate inorganic and organic carbon. I also contribute to field campaigns across New England, including in Massachusetts and Connecticut.
Using both my own data and data collected by NEON, I plan to complete a dissertation that improves our understanding of terrestrial-aquatic linkages, covering flux pathways, spatiotemporal variation, and stream metabolism.
