Alan Beam brings over 40 years of experience in education, spanning roles from classroom teacher to district leader. After retiring as a high school principal, he returned to the classroom before taking on a new challenge as Assistant Dean at Washburn Tech. Following his retirement from Washburn Tech, he returned two years later as Director of Professional Development, Substitutes, and Corrections. His unwavering passion for education drives his commitment to supporting schools, educators, and organizations in achieving excellence.

Began in 1982 as a secondary teacher and coach at Washington High School in Washington, KS.
Taught middle school and high school social studies, as well as college-level social sciences (face-to-face and online).
Served as adjunct faculty in Educational Leadership at Washburn University.
Held roles including Athletic Director, High School Principal, Curriculum & Staff Development Director, Instructional Coach, and Interim Superintendent.
Joined Washburn Tech in 2019 as Director of Instruction, later serving as Interim Assistant Dean of Instruction.
