ABB Drives Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the ABB Drives mobile application (the “Application”), independently developed and provided by Abdullah Ohe (the “Service Provider”).

The Application is an independently developed, advertising-supported technical-reference application and is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis.

1. Information Collection and Use

The Application and its integrated third-party services may automatically collect or process certain information when the Application is used, including:

• Internet Protocol (IP) address

• Approximate location derived from the IP address

• Device type, operating system and language settings

• Application interactions and usage statistics

• Pages, screens or features accessed within the Application

• Date, time and duration of Application usage

• Diagnostic, crash and application-performance information

• Device identifiers and advertising identifiers

• Purchase status and transaction-related information processed through Google Play

The Application does not collect precise GPS location.

The Application does not require users to create an account or provide personal information to access its core technical-reference features.

2. Voluntary Email Communication

If a user chooses to contact the Service Provider through email, the user’s email address, message content and any information voluntarily included in the message may be received and processed for the following purposes:

• Responding to support requests

• Investigating technical problems

• Receiving suggestions or feedback

• Providing important information relating to the Application

The Application does not automatically access the user’s contacts or email account. Email communication is initiated voluntarily by the user through an external email application.

3. Internet Requirement

Some features of the Application require an active internet connection, including:

• Displaying and measuring advertisements

• Processing or restoring in-app purchases

• Accessing developer support through email

• Loading certain Google or other online services

Certain technical-reference features may continue to function offline without an active internet connection.

The Service Provider is not responsible for reduced functionality caused by unavailable, unstable or restricted internet access.

4. Third-Party Services

The Application uses the following third-party services:

• Google AdMob

• Google Play Billing

• Google Play Services

These services may collect, process or share device information, approximate location derived from an IP address, application interactions, diagnostic information, advertising identifiers and transaction-related information according to their respective terms and privacy policies.

5. Data Use and Sharing

The Service Provider does not sell or rent users’ personal information.

Limited information may be collected, processed or shared with trusted third-party service providers only for purposes such as:

• Providing Application functionality

• Displaying, personalising and measuring advertisements

• Processing and restoring in-app purchases

• Analysing Application usage

• Monitoring and improving performance and reliability

• Diagnosing crashes and technical problems

• Preventing fraud, abuse and security threats

• Complying with applicable laws and legal requirements

• Responding to voluntary support communications

Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with a legal obligation, enforce applicable terms, investigate suspected fraud, protect users or protect the rights, property and safety of the Service Provider or others.

6. In-App Purchases

The Application may offer an optional one-time purchase that permanently removes advertisements.

All payment transactions are processed securely through Google Play Billing. The Service Provider does not directly collect, process or store users’ payment-card details, banking information or Google Play account credentials.

Purchase availability, payment processing, refunds and transaction management remain subject to Google Play’s applicable terms and policies.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

The Application does not directly maintain an external, developer-controlled database containing users’ automatically collected personal information.

Information collected or processed by third-party services is retained and deleted according to each service provider’s privacy policy and data-retention practices.

Support emails and information voluntarily submitted by users may be retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to:

• Respond to requests

• Resolve technical issues

• Maintain relevant support records

• Prevent fraud or abuse

• Comply with applicable legal obligations

This deletion request does not apply to information independently controlled by Google or another third-party service provider. Requests relating to such information must be submitted directly to the relevant provider.

8. Data Security

The Service Provider takes reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect information processed in connection with the Application.

Information transmitted between the Application and supported third-party services is generally protected using secure network connections provided by those services.

However, no method of electronic transmission, processing or storage is completely secure. Therefore, absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

9. Children’s Privacy

The Application is not specifically directed toward children under the age of 13.

The Service Provider does not knowingly request or directly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age. If such information is identified, reasonable steps will be taken to delete it promptly.

10. User Rights and Choices

Depending on the user’s location and applicable law, users may have the right to request access to, correction of or deletion of personal information held directly by the Service Provider.

• Disabling personalised advertising where available

• Managing Google privacy and advertising preferences

• Choosing not to submit information through email

• Uninstalling the Application through the standard uninstall process

Uninstalling the Application stops future information collection associated with the user’s continued use of the Application. However, uninstalling may not automatically delete information previously processed or retained by third-party services.

11. Independent Application Disclaimer

The Application is an independently developed technical-reference application.

The Application and its developer are not affiliated with, authorised by, sponsored by, approved by or officially endorsed by ABB, or any of its parent companies, subsidiaries, distributors, agents or authorised representatives.

The Application must not be interpreted or represented as an official ABB product, service, publication, support channel or authorised documentation platform.

12. Trademark Notice

“ABB,” “ABB Drives,” associated product names, model numbers, logos, images and other trademarks or brand identifiers are the property of their respective owners.

Any reference to such names or identifiers within the Application is made solely for:

• Product identification

• Compatibility description

• Educational information

• Technical-reference purposes

The Service Provider does not claim ownership of, a licence to or any exclusive rights in third-party trademarks, trade names, logos or other brand identifiers.

13. Technical Documentation and Copyright Notice

Technical manuals, diagrams, specifications, product information and related materials referenced or displayed within the Application remain the property of their respective copyright owners.

Their inclusion or reference:

• Does not transfer ownership to the Service Provider

• Does not imply authorisation, sponsorship or endorsement

• Does not establish any official relationship with ABB

• Is intended solely to provide identification and technical-reference assistance

The Application is intended to help users locate and understand technical-reference information. It is not intended to replace:

• Official manufacturer documentation

• Qualified technical advice

• Authorised service support

• Professional engineering judgement

• Applicable workplace and electrical-safety procedures

Users must verify important technical information using the latest official manufacturer documentation before installing, configuring, operating, maintaining or repairing industrial equipment.

If a copyright owner or authorised representative believes that material available through the Application infringes its rights, they may contact the Service Provider with sufficient identification and supporting details. The concern will be reviewed promptly, and appropriate corrective action will be taken where reasonably required.

14. No Warranty and Limitation of Reliance

Although reasonable efforts are made to provide accurate and useful information, the Service Provider does not guarantee that all information within the Application is:

• Complete

• Current

• Accurate

• Error-free

• Suitable for every drive model

• Compatible with every firmware version

• Appropriate for every installation or application

Users remain responsible for verifying parameters, fault information, wiring instructions, safety requirements and operating procedures against the latest official ABB documentation.

Use of the Application and reliance on its information are at the user’s own discretion and risk, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes to:

• The Application

• Third-party services

• Data-handling practices

• Google Play requirements
