The energy transition s essential to reaching net zero by 2050 and achieve the UN sustainable development goals.

How the climate adverse scenarios could impact the energy transition ? What will be the impacts of the coming urban projects on the cities carbon footprint ? What are the most cost-effective public policies to achieve quickly a sustainable society ? Is the energy transition possible ?

To get the best possible answers to all this questions, we need a energy transition simulator.

All over the world scientists do their best to release models and scenarios aiming at simulate the energy transition. However they are based on many assumptions quite debatable and limited parameters. Moreover these models are like black-boxes, they are difficult to understand for most people that are not subject-matter experts.

Therefore I think that it would be a great asset to develop a multi-agents system simulating as best as possible the energy transition. This is a very ambitious project, for sure, but one can capitalize on the work done already by the free software community. Indeed some opensource video-games are now mature enough to set the ground of such a multi-agents system.

With a high number of gamers, we can expect a high numbers of plays. The best ones could be a good fit as scenarios to solve the energy transition issue in a less expensive way and in a timely manner.

Let's see how we may tackle climate change all together ! That is the purpose of SimuNRGtrans
