On the occasion of National Science Day, LoMI had the pleasure of hosting enthusiastic students from Jantragachi Pronobanondo High School & Patharghata High School. The program was organized as part of our student outreach initiative to promote scientific curiosity, learning and interaction with real research environments.

The one-day National Symposium on "Gene-Edited Rice in India: Impact on Food, Environment and Society" was successfully organized at the P. C. Mahalanobis Auditorium, Presidency University, Kolkata on November 17, 2025. This interdisciplinary event brought together eminent academics, scientists, policymakers, and civil society members to deliberate on the transformative potential and multifaceted implications of genome editing technology in addressing India's agrarian challenges while examining environmental, social, and ethical dimensions.
