Welcome Gate Design

Brief: The Welcome Gates based on the Nav Dwara Concept would become integral part depicting the culture, ethos, and identity of Ayodhya. The design of the Welcome Gates should portray harmony between the great past and future ambitions of Ayodhya with stories / lessons / era of Ramayana, Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, brand / identity of Ayodhya with innovative use of design, material selection, textures, colours etc. The design should follow Nagara Shaili (northern style temple architecture) and may be combined with modern / innovative styles of architecture.

Concept

Ayodhya is a sacred land with rich heritage and culture. It also holds sentimental place in our hearts as it is Shri Ram’s JanmaBhoomi. Based on this i have created a design that depicts the deep cultural history of Ayodhya.

Elements

1. Elephants represent wisdom, royal power, and divine knowledge. It has great importance in our country. It also suggests that tourists are given a royal welcome.

2. Jatayu holds a significant place in Ramayan. So in honor of his sacrifice and bravery, I have depicted him in the center. It also depicts an eagle which is associated with rebirth which can be related to the rebirth of Ayodhya.

3. Bow and Arrow are of great importance in Ramayan. It was Shri Ram’s preferred weapon. Inside the bow, i have depicted different Ramayan scenes in the form of small sculptures.

4. Trishul is depicted here as the Dhanush that Shri Ram broke was Shiva’s Dhanush. The three prongs of Trishul also represent - trinity -Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh; Sarasvati, Lakshmi, and kaali; the 3 - -kaala---past, present and future; 3-- powers--- will, action and wisdom.

5. Surya is a symbol of auspiciousness, purity of soul, truth, and stability. It also depicts that Shri Ram is a descendant of the Surya dynasty.

Color

The color used here is a shade of orange which is of great significance in the Hinfu religion it also symbolizes warmth, energy, and cheerfulness.

Materials

Materials used will be RSS cement and Sandstone. As cement will be concrete and long-lasting. The sandstone will give the desired effect of the ancient temples and Nagara Shaili.

Lights

Lights can be placed throughout the night to illuminate the gate design. It can also create a vibe and change colors based on different events and festivals.
