Non-Disclosure Agreements in Higher-Ed?

It was recently revealed that Purdue Global engaged in the practice of having faculty sign non-disclosure agreements (AAUP) and also demanded that students sign waivers relinquishing their rights to sue the University for wrong-doing (Inside Higher-Ed). Since the story broke in late August, Purdue Global has abandoned the practice of requiring NDAs from faculty (Journal & Courier), but this has sparked a conversation about whether or not corporate-style NDAs have a place in higher-education (Chronicle of Higher Ed).
