Notre gagnant pour l'année 2021 est Alex Vasilakopoulos du lycée d'Hauppauge.
"It is such an honor to be a recipient of this award. Learning about the French language and all of the culture associated with it has not only gifted me with a more global perspective, but it has changed me as a person. For this, I am forever grateful. More so, I am thankful for the French teachers who have proudly shown me their passion for both the language and the culture and passed it on to me. I want to give a special thank you to Madame Rigaud. Teaching the actual course material is hard to begin with, yet Madame was able to do this expertly in addition to exciting her students about French culture and continuing to offer us support and guidance. I have been fortunate to have her for the last four years and we even traveled to France together last February. Madame, il y a tant à vous remercier: votre aide, votre gentillesse, et le plus important, tout ce que vous m'avez donné. Vous avez changé ma vie pour le mieux.
I would like to thank all of the French teachers out there for their continued effort and dedication to teaching this language and passing on their passion for it. I am so excited to continue studying French next year in college and I am certain that it will remain an integral part of my life. Merci à tous!"
