It is indeed a great pleasure for me to note that 10th Annual academic session of the College of Transfusion Physicians is scheduled from 30th June to 1st of July 2023 at the National Blood Centre Colombo 05. The theme of the sessions this year is “Blood cure with care”.  The role of transfusion medicine is becoming more important and we do provide it with affection and care.

The Sri Lanka College of Transfusion Physicians is the professional body which regulate the transfusion service by providing the necessary technical guidance. Throughout recent years the discipline of Transfusion Medicine has advanced remarkably in our country. It also developed academically by making more postgraduate Diploma and MD trainees in the field of Transfusion Medicine.

The scientific programme has been prepared including wide selection of topics to be presented by renowned experts in the field and making it more attractive and stimulating.   It also includes two pre and post congress workshops.  I am grateful for all the speakers for sharing their knowledge and experience with us and I have no doubt that the academic sessions will give participants a memorable experience.
