Hello!
I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Economics at the University of Calgary, Canada. I am on the job market in 2025 - 2026. I am a development economist. My current research focuses on the impact of residential schools on the Indigenous peoples, the Scheduled Tribes, of India.
My job market paper, Impact of Residential Schools on Educational Attainment of Indigenous Women: Evidence from India, was adjudged the best student research paper by the Economic Profession Data Committee at the Canadian Economic Association's (CEA) annual conference in Montreal (2025). It also won the Best Graduate Poster award at CEA 2025.
Before joining the University of Calgary, I worked as a Research Analyst, handling projects in education, water and sanitation, and health in the remote villages of India's Naxalite region. Having managed field and survey projects with teams of 25-30, I have extensive experience in leading on-ground data collection, collaborating with government agencies, NGOs, and Indigenous communities on policy and program evaluation.
