All About Aaron

Hello! My name is Aaron Swartzendruber and I am a senior at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. At LSU I am majoring in Sport Administration with a minor in Business Administration. I chose to attend LSU for two reasons. First off, it has been my dream college ever since I was a little kid and because of my passion for sports. Making the journey from Des Moines, Iowa to Baton Rouge, Louisiana wasn't easy, but I would have to say, its has been well worth it! With this degree I aspire to one day become Director of Operations for a professional sports organization.

My past experiences with children include coaching little league soccer,working the New Orleans Pelicans Fan Fest, and being a captain for various varsity sports teams. I'd definitely say that I lack knowledge on dealing with children, but i have good characteristics as a leader. During my time as a little league soccer coach I was assisting my varsity soccer coach with his 7-8th grade soccer team. I wouldn't do any coaching on my own, but I would help with practice game plans and efficiently running the children through drills. My time with the New Orleans Pelicans was during last years NBA season where I volunteered at a few games working their Pelican Fest. I was there observing children to make sure they were having fun and being safe before the game. Lastly, I was a team captain for football, track, soccer, and baseball in high school, which will translate very well into managing children in the future.

Aside from my busy school and work schedule I have many hobbies that I enjoy. These hobbies include going to the park with my dog, attending live sporting events, shopping, hanging out with my girlfriend, sleeping, and I also enjoy lifting. I was diagnosed about three years ago with Degenerative disk disease and Scheuermann's Disease throughout my spine, which has made lifting very difficult. My doctors keep advising me that strengthening my muscles around the spine and staying active will only help me. Even with daily pain, I find time to enjoy these hobbies to the best that I can.
