Community Rooms

The AARC has two free community rooms which are available during regular business hours for groups of 3 or more. Community Rooms are for non-commercial, informational, educational, cultural, and civic needs. To use a community room, a group or organization must be not-for-profit, non-commercial and demonstrate a community or civic purpose.

Community Room 1 is 352 square feet, can seat up to 20 people and has carpet flooring.

Community Room 8 is 640 square feet, can seat up to 40 people and has tile flooring and a sink.

The two free community rooms are available during regular business hours for groups of 3 or more.

ROOMS AVAILABLE ONLY: MON, WED, FRI: 10AM-6PM; TUES, THUR*: 10AM-9PM; SAT: 10AM - 4PM; CLOSED SUNDAYS

*Reservations beyond 6pm TUES & THURS must be reserved 7 days in advance. Community Room 8 is not available MON - THURS before 2pm.

Both community rooms include a TV with HDMI and VGA connections for presentations, dry erase board and tables and chairs.

fAQ

  • All activities in the rooms must be free and open to the public.

  • The community rooms may not be used for commercial activity or reserved by for-profit organizations or businesses. Fees or donations may not be charged or collected, no solicitations of goods or services,
    and sales or fundraising is not permitted in the rooms.

  • The community rooms may not be used for social or personal gatherings, political rallies or campaigns
    for or against a specific ballot issue or candidate, or for facility rental activities that are not free and open to the public.

  • Rooms are offered free on a first come, first serve basis with reservations accepted up to 90 days in advance. Rooms cannot be reserved for the same program under different organization/individual names, resulting in a reoccurring program

  • Children may not be left unattended in the facility.

  • Packaged refreshments may be served; for open food or beverage, a temporary food event permit is required.

  • Rooms must be left as they are found. All trash must be put in the proper receptacles, surfaces (including white board) wiped down if necessary and equipment returned.

  • Permission to use the community rooms may be withheld from groups who have failed to comply with these guidelines or cause any damages or disturbances.

  • To change or cancel a reservation, please email bianca.galvan@austintexas.gov or call 512-974-1700. If a group fails to show for two meetings in a row and does not call to cancel, future reservations may be denied.
