Property is tired, lot’s of construction happening, personally choose another Koh Chang resort

There was no hot water the first night and morning as the instant hot water system was broken and it could not be fixed till the next day; Thailand was experiencing unseasonable cool and windy weather during our trip and the hot water was sorely missed. Our kettle was broken and was not replaced during visit. A couple of power points in the room were also broken; either not working or loose in the wall. I found the staff not as professional or attentive as I’ve experienced elsewhere in Thailand. Construction noise could be easily heard in our room and throughout between 8am and 5pm; if I’d known the resort was being renovated before booking I would have selected another resort. It was not possible to walk to te beach, only access is via boat. The resort is not suitable for disabled people. there are only luggage ramps. All room access is via raised wooden platforms, with rickety handrails and many steps, some quite steep. If you need a wheelchair forget this resort. I suggest the resort pictures on Booking.com were taken when the resort first opened, today it looks nowhere near as splendid, I was unfortunately disappointed with my stay.

Our villa with private plunge pool was of good size with a very comfortable bed, by Thai standards who prefer hard beds. The bathroom was satisfactory. Unfortunately, we found more things wrong with the resort than things we liked and were disappointed having spent extra money for a room with a plunge pool

Great location out of the busy areas

Lots of renovation going on so some areas were not open.

Good breakfast and comfortable big bed.

The property is having extensive renovation done throughout. The room I stayed in had drilling and banging all day long I had gone for a rest which was difficult. The hotel is nice but is in need of these renovations however it would be good to know that when you book! I was only staying for a short time which was ok but you would be disturbed if you had booked a whole holiday there.

It is pretty and the room is nice. Breakfast is good.

The construction was obviously an issue but the staff again were understanding and generous because of that.

The staff were very accommodating to our needs and tried their best to make our stay memorable!

Disappointing

Building work all day -noisy -everyday even Sunday .building going on in many parts of the resort no escape. pool ,restaurant under construction and outside of most rooms being painted. Breakfast served in conference room a cold windowless room ...depressing. Too many ants in room.

There were ants everywhere in the room ! The bed was so comfortable, but i felt like there were ants as well on the bed. I woke up itching everywhere in my body for both nights.

The staff were so friendly and very helpful.

The following points are based on price and what I feel is acceptable for this kind of money in Thailand. As I live in Thailand and regularly go away I have a reasonable idea of what to expect. In our room there was mould above the mosquito net and the air conditioning was either on or off (despite 3 different fan speed settings) and constantly cold (impressively so when you need it, not so good overnight!). The walls are thin meaning we had no problems hearing our children. The seating out on the deck was less than comfortable. There is a boat to the beach but the communication between staff is apparently non existent as they do not know when you are waiting for the boat. No bacon at breakfast (not vital, just a warning) and the quality of the breakfast was of the usual Thai fare. The boardwalks are in need of serious repair with boards missing in areas which are poorly lit at night posing a serious hazard. There also was only just enough parking in.low season, if you go in high season you could well be parking on the road.

There was free kayaks and the location is nice. There are free firefly tours of an evening and the cleaning staff seem thorough and friendly. The rooms we had were not really overlooked and felt private.

We have never experienced something like this before and we are traveling lots due to business and private. 6 electricity failors within 5 days One for almost the whole night. The internet connection is also bad and has many breakdowns. When we discovered the hotel the next morning we were shocked in what bad shape the hotel is. The shower head in our room is fixed only by some tape. It's quite dirty and should be replaced. The lamps on the nightstands are very rusty. The balcony rail is very unstable. Since the first day we have lots of ants in our room. Handtowels were only available on request. curtains were falling off the rails. Unfortunately it's not possible to darken the room completely. The AC system infront of the door is quite loud. The AC itself in the room is dripping. The infinity pool is closed. the other pool is also in a bad shape and doesn't seem very clean as you can't barely see the ground of the pool. The wooden floors across the property are in quite bad shape and broken in some parts, which causes danger to the guests. The breakfast is more like a lunch buffet and besides eggs, jam, always the same fruits and the chicken cold cuts, there is no real breakfast stuff available. Due to the reconstruction of the restaurant we had to have breakfast in a dark uncozy meeting room with no daylight. There was no possibility to sit outside. The shuttle to the city runs only twice and day and returns way to early (20.00). The mini shop is rarely open. It's nice to have the opportunity to take a kayak to the beach but the beach itself is in very bad conditions. beach furnitures are broken, the bar isn't really open, there are no trashcans available and it's hard to relax while there is an excavator doing works.

There was a broken building inside the Hotel area and the high situated pool was under renovation.

Professional staff, amazing view from the room and good value for money.

A good hotel which needs a complete renovation and more professional staff.

We requested a room with a good view and the front desk told us we were upgraded to a higher catagory with the river view instead we got a room that was in the ground floor corner with no privacy and no river insight and the room had damp smell. After complaining they could only offer us better room with extra money which we was not satisfactory. Also the hotels restuarant was under renovation which we were informed later when we wanted to have lunch.

Location of the hotel was great and the toiletries were pretty good and hotel has free kayak for hotel guests.
