We are seeking dedicated, innovative, and leadership-driven students to apply for the executive board of the American Academy of Medicine & Surgery (AAMS). This is a unique opportunity to contribute to an organization that provides pre-med and health undergraduates with critical exposure to the fields of medicine and surgery, with an emphasis on surgical and fine motor skills.
Responsibilities:
Planning and Organization: Help coordinate events, workshops, and guest lectures that align with our mission of educating members about cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, and surgical techniques.
Leadership: Lead a team of peers, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages knowledge sharing and professional growth.
Networking: Establish and maintain relationships with medical professionals, including physicians and surgeons, to facilitate shadowing opportunities and mentorships for club members.
Communication: Serve as a liaison between club members, faculty advisors, and the medical community, ensuring a flow of valuable information and opportunities.
Qualifications:
Current undergraduate student with a strong academic standing and an interest in science, medicine, or healthcare.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Prior experience in student organizations or similar leadership roles is preferred but not required.
A commitment to promoting and enhancing educational and professional development activities related to medicine and surgery.

Plans and organizes volunteer activities and community service projects.
Works with local organizations and hospitals to provide members with volunteering opportunities.
Oversees recruitment and retention of members including BruinWalk fundraisers, etc.
Organizes member orientations and maintains member satisfaction through surveys and feedback.
Manages the organization’s website and online resources - including a mailing list and Instagram account.
Ensures that digital tools are effectively used for communication and organization.
