Postdoctoral Fellows

Fateme Salehi received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in communication engineering from the University of Birjand, Birjand, Iran, in 2012 and 2022, respectively. From March 2021 to September 2021, she was with the KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden, as a Visiting Researcher. She joined as a postdoctoral fellow to the research group Communication Systems and Networks at Mid Sweden University in October 2022. Her research interests include signal processing, channel estimation, MIMO-OFDM, and NOMA systems, resource management in ultra-reliable low-latency communication, and the Internet-of-things.

Muhammad Waseen Akhtar received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) in 2014 and 2021, respectively. He joined as a postdoctoral research fellow to the department of Computer and Electrical Engineering, Mid Sweden University, in 2022. His research interests include the Internet of Things; cooperative communication; energy- and bandwidth-efficient network designing; massive multiple-input, multiple-output and device-to-device communication; artificial intelligence; machine learning. 

Doctoral Students

Farnaz Khodakhah earned her bachelor's in Electrical Engineering from Shiraz University of Technology and her master's degree in Telecommunication at Shiraz University, Iran.  In her master's thesis, she focused on soft network coding, cooperative communication, and energy harvesting. Currently, she is pursuing her Ph.D. at the research group Communication Systems and Networks, Mid Sweden University. Her research interest includes non-orthogonal multiple access, RAN slicing for heterogeneous services.

Juan Cruz Piñero (co-tutelle PhD with IMT Atlantique, France), working on the topic of "Deterministic Networking over 5G and Beyond: An End-to-End Connectivity Perspective for Cyber-Physical Systems"
