Cal Newport is a computer science professor who writes books about how technology impacts work and life.
The three books most relevant to this presentation are Deep Work: Rules for Focused Success in a Distracted World, A World Without Email: Reimagining Work in the Age of Communication Overload, and Slow Productivity: The Lost Art of Accomplishment Without Burnout. His most popular book, Deep Work, has sold over a million copies. Slow Productivity, which came out in March, is his latest book.
In addition to these books, Newport regularly writes for the New Yorker, hosts the weekly Deep Questions podcast, and writes periodic blog posts.
He is currently working on a book about how to live a deep life.
