About

I joined IIT-Kanpur in December 2020 under the supervision of Professor Ashok Kumar. Our lab works in the multidisciplinary field of Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine, and focuses on development of smart biomaterials with diverse applications in bioprocess engineering as well as musculoskeletal, skin, cardiac, liver, and neural tissue engineering. We explore natural and synthetic materials for the development of new generation cryogels, and smart responsive biomaterials for their therapeutic applications in complex healthcare problems.

Current Research

My current research focuses on Diabetes associated comorbidities. We aim to fabricate versatile biomaterials with therapeutic and regenerative effects in the intractable diabetic milieu, with specific focus on diabetic neuropathy, diabetic wounds and diabetic osteomyelitis.

M.Tech dissertation

Institute of Nano Sciences and Technology, Mohali (July 2019-July2020)

Project title: Colourimetric detection of bacteria using chitosan capped gold nanoparticles.
I worked on the development, optimization and characterization of chitosan capped gold nanoparticles for the detection of E.coli as a causative agent of UTI. I further improved upon the system through the use of short recognizing peptides.
