This privacy policy describes how the "Aaj ka Menu" mobile application ("the App", "we", "our") handles information when you use our service.
## Summary
Aaj ka Menu is designed to respect your privacy. We do not collect personally identifiable information, we do not require you to create an account, and we do not sell your data to anyone. The only information we collect is anonymous usage analytics that helps us understand which features are used and improve the app over time.

We do not collect:
- Your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifiable information
- Your contacts, photos, or files from your device
- Your precise or approximate location
- Any payment information (the app is free and contains no in-app purchases)
- Your search queries (only the length of your searches is recorded for analytics, not the actual text)
### Anonymous Usage Analytics
We use Firebase Analytics (a service provided by Google) to collect anonymous, aggregated information about how the App is used. This includes:
- **App usage events** — such as which tabs you open, which recipes you view, when you use features like the Lucky Recipe button or favorites
- **Device information** — such as your device model, Android version, and screen size, used to ensure the App works well on different devices
- **Anonymous device identifier** — a non-personal identifier assigned by Firebase that helps us measure how many unique users open the App, without identifying you personally
- **Crash reports** — automatic technical diagnostics if the App crashes, used to fix bugs
This data is processed in aggregate and cannot be used to identify you personally. We use it solely to understand which features users find useful and to fix problems.
## Data You Create In The App
The App stores certain data locally on your device only:
- **Favorite recipes** — recipes you mark as favorites
- **Custom recipes** — any recipes you add yourself through the Add Recipe feature
- **Language preference** — whether you have chosen English, Hindi, or Marathi
- **YouTube link preferences** — any custom video links you save for individual recipes
This data never leaves your device. It is not uploaded to any server. If you uninstall the App, this data is removed by Android automatically. If your device has Google Backup enabled, Android may include this data in your personal Google Drive backup, accessible only by you.
## Data Sharing
We do not share, sell, rent, or trade any data with third parties for marketing purposes.
The Firebase Analytics service operated by Google receives the anonymous usage data described above. Google's use of this data is governed by Google's own privacy policy, available at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
## Children's Privacy
The App is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the App and you wish to ensure no data has been collected, please contact us at the email address below.
## Permissions Used By The App
The App requests only one permission:
- **Internet access** — used to load YouTube videos when you tap the YouTube button on a recipe, and to send anonymous analytics events as described above. The App does not require internet for its core functionality (browsing recipes, favorites, search) and works fully offline.
## Data Retention
Anonymous analytics data is retained by Firebase for 14 months by default and is then automatically deleted. Data stored locally on your device persists until you uninstall the App or clear its data through your device's Settings.
## Your Rights
You have the right to:
- **Stop data collection** at any time by uninstalling the App
- **Clear all locally stored data** through your device's Settings → Apps → Aaj ka Menu → Storage → Clear Data
- **Opt out of Firebase Analytics** by disabling Google Play Services analytics in your device settings (this is a Google-level setting that affects all apps)
We do not maintain a server-side account for you, so there is no separate "delete my account" process — uninstalling the App is sufficient to remove all your data from the device.
## Changes To This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
