Speed Networking for BIPOC Journalists

On Saturday May 21, 2022, student and professional journalists participating in a speed networking event to develop new connections and learn about career opportunities at Oregon media companies.

You’re invited to join us on Saturday, May 21, for “Speed Networking with AAJA PDX.”


During this two-hour event, student and professional journalists based in Oregon will have the opportunity to make professional connections and learn about internship, freelancing and other opportunities at local news organizations. This event is focused on helping BIPOC journalists to find one another and discuss common concerns.


As the only official organization for journalists of color in Oregon, AAJA PDX is excited to facilitate this gathering for our increasingly diverse media community.


Time: This event has passed.


Cost: Free! Donations to AAJA PDX are encouraged.


Location: The Oregonian/OregonLive, 1500 S.W. First Ave., Suite 500, Portland


RSVP: Due to building security procedures, you must register by 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, to attend this event. Capacity is limited; if the number of registrants exceeds capacity, AAJA PDX will give priority to those who registered earlier and will create a waiting list. COVID policy: Any attendee who is not an employee of The Oregonian/OregonLive will be required to fill out a visitor wellness certificate before entering the event (the certificate will be sent with your registration confirmation and will be available at the door). Masks are optional.
