President of UECE - Research Unit on Complexity and Economics, President of REM-Research in Economics and Mathematics, coordinator of the Master in Monetary and Financial Economics, and coordinator of the PhD in Economics. Previously: Principal Economist at the European Central Bank, Senior Economist at CGD, BNU, and at IGCP, and Consultant and Adviser at the Ministry of Finance. Previous project work: Inter-American Development Bank, European Commission, OECD, European Court of Auditors and International Monetary Fund. Member of the editorial board of: International Economics; Notas Económicas; Economics. Several peer reviewed publications (ABS 4, ABS 3; Q1, Q2), and research notably on fiscal policies, fiscal sustainability, consolidations, government spending efficiency, sovereign ratings, fiscal and external imbalances, QE and its transmission mechanisms. Supervision of more than 50 Master thesis and 6 PhD thesis, and participation in more than 100 academic juries.
