I am a PhD student in the Department of City & Regional Planning at the University of California, Berkeley. I am supported by a NSF Graduate Research Fellowship.
Prior to starting my PhD, I graduated from UC Berkeley with a M.S. in Energy & Resources, B.A. in Political Science, and a minor in Public Policy. I completed a Fulbright research award to Laos in 2023.
I am broadly interested in understanding how geopolitical competition intersects with state-led transnational spatial planning to shape the built environment in the Global South. My work draws from the regional planning, international relations, and science and technology studies literatures. I am currently examining how U.S.-China competition influences expert models of electricity systems and shapes cross-border transmission infrastructure in the Mekong region of Southeast Asia.
