All Assam Buddhist Association (AABA), a non-governmental organization committed to promoting and preserving Buddhist religion, culture and heritage in the state of Assam. Formerly known as "Sadou Asom Bauddha Samity", our association was founded in 1939 with the aim of promoting the teachings of Buddha and serving the community through various social welfare activities. Over the years, we have grown to become one of the leading Buddhist organizations in the region, with a strong presence in the districts of Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Jorhat, Golaghat, Karbi Anglong, Charaideo, Sivasagar and Lakhimpur of Assam. We also have strong ties with other leading Buddhist organisations around the world.
AABA is registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860.
AABA was accorded recognition as the Regional Centre of the World Fellowship of Buddhists (WFB) at the inaugural session of the WFB held in Colombo, Sri Lanka in 1950 under the president ship of the Founder President Dr. G.P. Malalasekera.
