Plan to arrive by the evening of May 13 for a casual get together, and stay through Saturday eveningʻs conference dinner (included in registration). All events will be held in the Waikiki area (east side)
Conference will begin with an informal gathering for people who arrive early.
Conference talks will begin on Thursday morning with registrations starting about 8:00am; Friday will have a cultural event, which is optional; Talks will resume on Saturday.
There will be a conference dinner (included in registration). Specifics will be determined based on number of participants.

Airport Transportation:
Robertʻs Hawaii is reliable and charges $27.50/all inclusive (except tip) - shared ride to Waikiki. You can book on arrival but may have to wait for next available shuttle
Uber runs $33-$38 one way (so cheaper if more than one person)

We have obtained a conference rate for the Pacific Monarch Hotel or White Sands Hotel at a 20% discount from the directly available booking rate at time of your booking. On-campus housing at Lincoln Hall is also available (limited units).

Hawaii Plantation Village. This is a hidden gem of Plantation History in Hawai`i, a nearly carceral situation that controlled generations of different immigrants, brought in to work on sugar and pineapple plantations. This is a rich history that tells us a lot about Hawai`iʻs population today.

Welcome and Tours of UH West O`ahu (hosting Institution) - We will be welcomed by native Hawaiian protocol, learn about important cultural traditions and the ways that Hawaiian Knowledge is part of the university. Also included tour of the Giugni Moving Image Archive of Hawai`i, the Nāulu Center, and Hale Kuahuokalā and Student Organic Garden.
The Bishop Museum -- a treasure of Hawaiian and Pasifika culture and history, and a really cool whale. Based on interest and availability, I will try to arrange a guided tour. Currently $5 off for purchasing online. Also see GroupOn for reduced rates.
Unfortunately, MA`O Farms is not presently available for tours as they are upgrading their facilities. They did appreciate hearing of your interest!
