I co-founded “Aces”, a media solutions agency where Mohammed and I had many customers who were YouTubers (gamers and streamers), we were responsible for editing the videos and visual content. we worked for Pubg Mobile Sudanese League (PMSL) which was the biggest Sudanese league at the time with the highest awards for E-Sports, we continued our journey in E-Sports Media Production until we decided to change the market in mid-2022.
Years ago, almost 2018-2019 I decided to gain my first hard skill in the tech world and taught myself how to code. I had an HP laptop the monitor was separate from the body of the device, and could only be used if I stuck it to the wall, the laptop's fan was kinda louder than the air condition, and there was no storage and enough cores for downloading IDE, I remember I heard from my brother than I can use something called "anaconda", but was never able to download it, the laptop was core i3. I started watching tutorials and then I learned about Pycharm. and began to code...
when I joined the university in 2022, I had no time to follow up with Saham gradually all members left it. despite traveling in the first year and only attending finals, I was able to join clubs and communities now and then, I joined GDSC and I got to know many members including Reem Mohammed, who introduced me to an opportunity designer at a Fintech start-up called Tutipay, co-founded by Mohammed Yousif (the person
Reem shared my contact with), and we chatted on WhatsApp I was lucky, he knew my elder brother, later he tasked me to do some illustrations (I was kinda bad at Adobe Illustrator but I managed to get it done), and I was invited to an interview and after a day they told I'm in. I was 18, and that was my first position where I did everything from graphics design video editing, and animations to user experience and interfaces, despite only showing up in the office 3 times, I worked remotely most of the time, we were building the next Fintech solution for Sudanese people our funding was good, but unfortunately, the joy never continued as the war happened and we couldn't manage to get anything from our office.
Tutipay journey taught me a bunch of stuff
connections are important to find opportunities
you need to showcase your skills, if Reem never knew about what I can do she would never recommend me
I felt I was not the center of the world and there were more people out there building real things working tirelessly and more experienced
that companies require funding and teams (you can't do it all yourself)
kind CEO or CTO is all you need
working with people who share the same mindset but have different beliefs, and values is perhaps the best environment you can work at.
