Sudipta Roy currently serves as an Associate Professor in Artificial Intelligence & Data Science at Jio Institute, located in Navi Mumbai. Prior to this role, he held a postdoctoral research position at Washington University in St. Louis, MO, USA. He obtained his Ph.D., Master and Bachelor degree in Computer Science & Engineering from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Calcutta. Throughout his career, he has made significant contributions to the field of computer science and engineering, with over 100 publications in reputable international journals including Cell, EBioMedicine-The Lancet, IEEE Transactions on Medical Imaging, MedIA, JNM, EJNMMI, CMPB, CBM, IEEE Transactions on Emerging Topics in Computational Intelligence, and top conferences including CVPR, ICCV, MICCAI, ISBI, WACV, PReMI, ICPR and others. He is also the author/editor of four books and many book chapters. He holds a US patent in medical image processing and an Indian patent in the smart agricultural system. He has served as a regular reviewer for various international journals and conferences, including IEEE, Springer, Elsevier, IET, CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, MICCAI, and others. Additionally, he has been involved in several conferences as a member of the international advisory committee, and program committee. He active member of BoS of several Universities. He has been recognized for his outstanding contributions as Associate Editor to IEEE Access, receiving the Outstanding Associate Editor award for consecutive years in 2020 and 2021. In 2021, his paper published in the Journal of Nuclear Medicine from SNMMI was honored with the 2021 Alavi-Mandell Publication Award in the USA. His expertise and contributions have also led to his recognition and inclusion in the world's top 2% cited scientists list, in the research area of AI & Image Processing, as curated by ELSEVIER (from Scopus) in the year 2023 and 2024.
His research and teaching interests span a wide range of topics, including biomedical image analysis, image processing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, Data Structure, Database, and Computer Vision. Through his extensive research, teaching, and editorial contributions, he continues to make valuable contributions to the field of AI and computer science.
