Sudipta Roy, Ph.D.

Sudipta Roy currently serves as an Assistant Professor in Artificial Intelligence & Data Science at Jio Institute, located in Navi Mumbai. Prior to this role, he held a postdoctoral research position at Washington University in St. Louis, MO, USA. He obtained his Ph.D., Master and Bachelor degree in Computer Science & Engineering from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Calcutta. Throughout his career, he has made significant contributions to the field of computer science and engineering, with over 80 publications in reputable international journals and conferences, including Cell, EBioMedicine- The Lancet (co-published), IEEE TMI, MedIA, CMPB, CBM, JNM, EJNMMI, CVPR, ICCV, MICCAI, ISBI, PReMI, ICPR and others. He is also the author/editor of four books and numerous book chapters. He holds a US patent in medical image processing and has filed an Indian patent in the smart agricultural system. He has served as a regular reviewer for various international journals and conferences, including IEEE, Springer, Elsevier, IET, ECCV, ICCV, MICCAI, and others. Additionally, he has been involved in several conferences as a member of the international advisory committee and program committee. His editorial contributions include serving as an Associate Editor of IEEE Access for six years, Academic Editor of Mathematical Problems in Engineering and Computational and Mathematical Methods in Medicine at Hindawi, and Topic Editor of the Journal of Imaging at MDPI. He has been recognized for his outstanding contributions to IEEE Access, receiving the Outstanding Associate Editor award for consecutive years in 2020 and 2021. In 2021, his paper published in the Journal of Nuclear Medicine from SNMMI was honored with the 2021 Alavi-Mandell Publication Award in the USA. His expertise and contributions have also led to his recognition and inclusion in the world's top 2% scientists list, specifically in the research area of Artificial Intelligence & Image Processing, as curated by ELSEVIER (from Scopus) and Stanford University, published on October 4, 2023.

His research interests span a wide range of topics, including biomedical image analysis, image processing, steganography, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and Computer Vision. Through his extensive research and editorial contributions, he continues to make valuable contributions to the field of computer science and engineering.
