Form & Experience
The module evolved as an extension of the orientation, aimed at expanding students’ definition of spatial manipulation through various forms of play and creation. The basic ideas of ‘scientific principles’ were developed to create large drawings and costumes – each representing a different experience of the world.
This culminated in an eight-part play, titled ‘A Cat Darted Across the Street, Stopping Just Long Enough to Glance at Me’. The performance aimed to unite these concepts into a single showcase, depicting the shifting dynamics of human perception. The different groups used specific overarching themes – such as movement, mechanics, or sound – to physically embody the given space.
