Pretty Dope Xperience - PDX Radio LLC
Business Director
Music Industry Strategist & Advisor
Raised in a household rooted in music, she’s been connected to the independent artist struggle since birth—her father an independent musician, tirelessly creating and performing without the benefit of industry support. That upbringing gave her a lifelong understanding of the passion, pressure, and perseverance it takes to be an artist without a money machine behind you.
Later in life, she met her husband—an independent Hip Hop artist whose journey echoed her father’s. What began as a personal effort to propel his music career eventually evolved into a calling. Once he graduated college, Alyssa immersed herself in learning the ins and outs of the music industry, receiving certifications in web design, branding, marketing, content strategy, and business structure—so she could be fully prepared to help a much broader community of independent artists.
Now, as co-leader of a global streaming platform reaching over 130 countries, Alyssa helps shine a spotlight on raw, underrepresented talent. From organizing campaigns like the PDX F.A.M. (Featured Artists and Musicians), to creating the "PDX Radio Charts", the "50 States of Dope" series, and writing the "Work Smarter, Not Harder" guide, her work is rooted in creativity, strategy, and love for the culture.
She’s especially passionate about helping revive Portland’s music and entertainment scene. Having witnessed the challenges faced by the local Hip Hop community—lack of recognition, resources, and dedicated space—she’s made it her mission to help rebuild and amplify the scene from the ground up.
Alyssa brings heart, hustle, and hands-on experience to everything she touches, standing as a true advocate for independent music and the people who create it.
From building websites and pressing merch to crafting radio programming and securing artist interviews, Alyssa does it all—and she does it with intention. Her work bridges art and entrepreneurship, driven by the belief that real music moves people, and real people move the culture.
As co-founder and business leader of PDX Radio, Alyssa revived and rebranded the platform during a time of transition, transforming it from a passion project into a full-fledged media hub. The station has earned endorsements from Hip Hop icons like Redman, Styles P, Pete Rock, and Afroman, as well as dozens of independent artists and fans across the globe.
In addition to running day-to-day operations at PDX Radio, Alyssa is an experienced graphic designer, digital marketer, and business consultant, holding certifications in web design, business law, and digital marketing. She discovers independent artists, oversees branding strategies, and develops digital content that amplifies authentic voices in music.
Alyssa’s story is one of vision, resilience, and unapologetic creativity. She’s not just running a platform—she’s building a legacy.
