This meeting is a celebration of noncommutative geometry and its many connections to mathematics and physics. It will take place 100 years on from the introduction of the formalism of quantum mechanics and explore how that theory has influenced physicists and mathematicians to investigate noncommutativity, in search of deep new mathematics and answers to the biggest questions, such as how we can understand quantum space-time.
The meeting is organised under the auspices of the framework of the COST project CA21109 – Cartan geometry, Lie, Integrable Systems, quantum group Theories for Applications (CaLISTA). The organisers are grateful for funding from the EU via COST.

The nearest airports are Manchester and Glasgow and both have good rail connections to the Lake District. However, you may find other airports more convenient for flights from your point of origin: as below, there are rail connections from most airports but they may involve more changes.
The nearest main line railway station is Oxenholme Lake District, situated just outside the town of Kendal, approximately 15 miles from Ambleside. Oxenholme is on the West Coast Mail Line and most trains between London and Glasgow stop here.
There is also a branch line station at Windermere, approximately 6 miles from Ambleside. Connections are available from Oxenholme to Windermere.
Taxis are usually available at both Oxenholme and Windermere stations. Journey times are 30-40 minutes and 10-20 minutes respectively; please bear in mind that in the summer months, there is often high demand for taxis and significant road traffic in the area, so please allow extra time for this.
