Hi everyone! Today was an exciting and pivotal moment for our team at A Living Entity as we presented our project during the selection process for the Lights On Stratford Festival - and we have great news to share!

We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve been chosen as one of the three groups to showcase our work at the festival! 🎉

Our presentation went smoothly, and we received insightful questions and constructive critiques from the panel. These discussions sparked new ideas and directions that we’re eager to explore as we refine our work for the final presentation.

We’re incredibly grateful for the feedback and are already hard at work incorporating it to ensure our installation is the best it can be. The opportunity to present today reminded us of the value of collaboration and the excitement of sharing our vision with a larger audience.

In precisely seven days, we'll be presenting our hard work and creative vision. This presentation is pivotal; it will determine whether our project earns a spot in the final display at the Lights On Stratford festival.

The pressure is on, but we're confident in the project we've developed. We've poured countless hours into refining every detail, from the initial concept to the final execution. We've faced challenges, overcome obstacles, and pushed ourselves creatively to produce something truly special. Now, it's almost time to share our creation with Stratford.

This week, we're pulling back the curtain to give you a glimpse into the crucial role of our project manager. Meet Cathy, the orchestrator of chaos, the glue that prevents us from falling into a hot mess of missed deadlines and conflicting schedules. Seriously, without her, we'd be lost.

She makes her incredibly demanding job look effortless, but believe us, coordinating everyone's schedules, managing resources, and keeping projects on track is not a simple job. Imagine trying to coordinate one meeting, sounds easy right? No, everyone is busy with packed calendars. Cathy has to find a way to accommodate each of our individual needs.

Not only is she great at juggling all the moving parts of our projects, but she also goes above and beyond to support individual team members. She proactively reaches out to offer assistance, guidance, and sometimes just a listening ear. Cathy doesn't just manage projects; she makes a supportive and collaborative team environment where everyone feels motivated to work. So, join us as we delve into Cathy's world and gain a deeper appreciation for the vital role she plays in our team's success.

We're excited to share an update on the development of our interactive light display! Our recent prototype focused on a feasibility test: ensuring we can seamlessly handle multiple elements on screen simultaneously. This is a vital step towards creating the rich and immersive experience we envision.

The primary goal of this prototype was to confirm our ability to display numerous animals, environmental elements, and user interface components without compromising performance. We pushed the limits of our code, populating the screen with a diverse range of wildlife. This testing allowed us to identify and address potential bottlenecks, ensuring a smooth and responsive experience even with a lot of elements on-screen.

While the current art style served its purpose for this testing phase, it's important to note that it's not final. We're continuing to refine the visuals, adding detail and polish to the environment and wildlife. Our talented media creation team are working hard to create visual designs that align with our vibe. Think of the current visuals as a placeholder for our final product!

What's Next?

With the feasibility test successfully completed, we're now focusing on:

• Enhancing Visuals: As mentioned, our media creation team is hard at work creating a visually stunning and immersive environment.

• Developing Interactive Features: We're implementing Firebase so it will allow users to interact with the installation.

With the festival fast approaching, expo preparations are in full swing! We're finalizing the technical aspects, ensuring seamless interaction, and coordinating all the logistics for a smooth setup. We're incredibly excited to share our vision with festival attendees and can't wait to see "A Living Entity" come to life.

This week saw significant progress in our mid-fidelity design. We're focused on creating an intuitive and engaging user experience, refining the interface for the interactive element. We're also experimenting with colours, patterns, and animations for the projected elements, aiming to evoke the feeling of a thriving river ecosystem.

To promote the installation, we're developing supporting design assets, including eye-catching posters and postcards. These visuals will capture the essence of "A Living Entity" and draw visitors in to experience the interactive magic. We're also refining our style guide to ensure a consistent and cohesive visual identity across all materials, strengthening the overall presentation of the project.

Our social media campaign is also moving forward! Last week, we shared two posts on Facebook and Instagram introducing the project and our team. This week, we're continuing our video interview series highlighting the talented individuals behind "A Living Entity." We'll be sharing an interview with Kelly Wu, who will discuss their role and contributions.
